When it comes to access to basic internet (at least 10 Mbit/s by law), most households and businesses today have coverage with mobile broadband via 4G, 5G, or satellite. For those who cannot get telephony or a connection that allows 10 Mbit/s, the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority, PTS, can procure broadband connections upon your application. However, before you contact PTS, there are a few things you can do yourself: Check with different operators if they have coverage where you live. There are now different types of antennas that provide better coverage at a reasonable price in electronics stores. Satellite reception is now available via Starlink at a significantly lower cost than before. It is not always the closest mast that gives you the best coverage. Check if there are other masts that, even if they are further away, can provide you with better coverage. You may need to check both coverage and capacity. If the operator you prefer has good coverage, they may still have poor capacity (many subscribers on the same mast). An operator with slightly worse coverage may, for the opposite reason, have better capacity.
