PTS warns small business owners
The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) continues to see problems with misleading and unethical sales in the telecom market. Small business owners are a particularly vulnerable group and risk entering into agreements on incorrect grounds.
A common approach is for a seller to call and claim to represent another operator or use a similar name. During the call, incomplete or misleading information about prices and terms is provided – with the aim of getting the entrepreneur to quickly say yes.
However, the Telecom Advisors want to add that individual entrepreneurs are covered by the right of withdrawal in the code of conduct and the Industry Agreement on Ethical Sales Methods.
