Dark fibre

Dark fiber is a fiber optic cable that lacks active equipment and is therefore not connected to a network or has any services associated with it. It is used by companies or organizations that want to build their own networks and have full control over the traffic. Since dark fiber is unconnected, it can be leased by network operators to entities that require high capacity and flexibility, such as for data centers or large companies.
