Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel the contract due to changes in the channel offering?
If you have a contract with a binding period, you should first check what is stated in your contract. Look for text that deals with changes in channel and program offerings. There are mainly three things that are important for canceling a contract:
- The operator must be able to show that there is a valid reason, stated in the contract, to have the right to change the terms
- A contract term can also be considered unfair in a review by ARN. An unfair term is invalid and a consumer is not bound by it
- A contract can also become invalid if the consumer has entered into it based on incorrect conditions, or if the conditions change significantly after the contract is entered into and the operator/seller should have understood this.
A change can, for example, mean that you are offered another channel instead or that you are entitled to a price reduction. If it is a significant change, you may also have the right to cancel your contract.
- First contact the operator to express your views and wishes regarding a change in your contract.
