Satellite

Communication via satellite means that signals are sent from the ground to a satellite in space (uplink), which then sends these signals back to the ground (downlink). Satellites are used for TV broadcasts, internet access, GPS navigation, and military communication, among other things. They are especially important in remote areas where regular communication networks are insufficient. Satellites enable long-distance communication but can be affected by weather and signal delay.
