Fixed telephony

Fixed telephony can be obtained through various technologies:

• Telephone jack: Traditional fixed telephony that is connected to a wall telephone jack. This technology is being phased out.
• Broadband: Broadband telephony that uses the internet connection to transmit calls.
• Cable TV outlet: IP-based telephony that uses the cable TV network to transmit calls.
• Data outlet in the wall: FiberLAN or city network that uses fiber optics to transmit calls.
