ADSL is a type of DSL technology that enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines than a conventional voiceband modem can offer. The bandwidth and bitrate are asymmetrical, which means that the download speed is higher than the upload speed. The copper network is being phased out and today it is not possible to sign new contracts for ADSL.
