What happens to my email address when I switch broadband provider?

If you use a free web-based email service with an associated email address (such as Hotmail, Gmail, or Yahoo!), you have access to it regardless of which provider you have. All you need is internet access. If you have an email address from your provider, you should ask your current and new provider if you can keep your email address or forward emails from your previous address to a new address. If you are only changing the type of connection (for example, from ADSL to fiber) with your current provider, you can normally continue to use your current email address. But also check this before switching.
